Carlton County Justice Center

The new Carlton County Justice Center is a 112,276 square foot, state-of-the-art facility housing the Sheriff’s office, a 911 call center, courtrooms, County Attorney, Public Defender and Probation offices, and the Law Enforcement Center.

The jail portion includes 96 beds, including a regional 16-bed Justice Involved Females Program, intake and release, programming space, inmate services (including medical, food, and laundry), and jail administration.

Hunt Electric, and our in-house limited energy partner ARS, provided full electrical, voice-data, security, and fire alarm buildout of the new facility. This included a 3,000A main service, 1,500kW generator, 2,067 new light fixtures, 200 cameras, 400,000 feet of power conductors and cables, 70,350 feet of conduit, and 600,000’ of limited energy cabling.

ATS UNIT DELAY

The 3000A ASCO ATS ordered for the project was damaged in transit, threatening a 9-month delay for a replacement. Through collaborative efforts between our Project Manager - Jim Monroe, Hunt leadership, purchasing, risk management, and vendors, Hunt Electric secured and installed a new replacement ATS within 3 months, avoiding significant project delays.
