Growing up in a family of electricians sparked Mike’s passion for the electrical industry. His career with Hunt has followed an impressive trajectory. Beginning in 1995 as an apprentice, he rose through the ranks as a Journeyman, Foreman, General Foreman, Field Superintendent, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Vice President, President of Hunt North, Senior Vice President of National Operations, and now Director of Project Delivery.

Having worked on a wide variety of projects, Mike says his favorite project thus far was the Xcel Energy High Bridge Power Plant in St. Paul. “It was the first local project I worked on after being on the road for 10 years. It was in my hometown so there were a lot of familiar faces, and I met people – Andy Leuer and Kyle Vevea – who would become long-term friends and co-workers. Xcel Energy has been a strong, supportive customer of ours as well.”

When discussing his enthusiasm for his new role, Mike is excited about working in a position that is not specifically related to Operations.  “My entire career I’ve been on the Ops side and would like to experience something different.  Also, more interaction with new people to the company and specifically, the electrical industry. I enjoy teaching and mentoring.”

Congratulations Mike, on this well-deserved achievement. You are one of a kind!
