Job opportunities for female elctricians

March 8, 2023 - This week, as a part of Women in Construction Week, we are highlighting women as a viable component of the construction industry.  WIC Week also provides an occasion to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry and to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.

LECIA HANSEN, GENERAL FOREMAN
Years in Industry: 27
Years at Hunt: On and off for 10 Years

Meet Lecia Hansen.  Her co-worker said she has excellent skills for commissioning equipment and getting the job on task.”  What does that even mean?

When arriving on a job site in Tennessee recently, there wasn’t much direction as far as commissioning went so Lecia took the bull by the horns and did what she thought was the right thing to do.  This resulted in the project being commissioned in a very safe and timely manner.  When she left was relocated to another job site, the customer asked if she could come back.  She was on a plane the next day.

Electrical Foremen Jobs: Not Just For Men

Lecia would like young girls to know that being an electrician is not only a man’s career – but a woman’s as well!  Ultimately, in her younger years, Lecia had decided to pursue being an electrician as a career path because she enjoyed the work and she knew it paid well so she could take care of herself.  Now, she loves where she’s at, what she’s doing, and especially enjoys the variety.

From the joy in her voice to the praises from co-workers and customers alike, it sounds like Lecia made the right choice and we are lucky to have her on our team.
