The Future Looks Bright for BIM and VDC

With our VDC team growing at such a rapid pace, the department has needed to add an additional layer of management to keep things running smoothly.  We’ve promoted 3 internal employees to VDC Team Managers.  Each team manager will take ownership of both projects and personnel, managing a team of +/- 6 designers each as well as mentor and take the lead on projects.

Expanding BIM & VDC Opportunities

October 2022 – Bloomington, MN –  Over the course of the last 15 years, since incorporating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) into our every day lives, we’ve grown from a one-man-band to over 60+ designers across the country.

Our specialists use industry leading programs to develop 3D models of every project that comes through our doors.  Then, they work with other departments to interpret and leverage the model insights – boosting efficacy throughout the entire project life cycle.

Please join us in congratulating Jolene Erdman, Matt Johnson, and Zak Swenson.

Jolene Erdman

Jolene has 8 years of design experience enjoys being able to work on a variety of projects while learning something new every day.  She feels challenged daily (in a good way!) and focuses on that as a reminder that there is a vast amount of knowledge between peers and colleagues.  As someone who enjoys communicating, she’s excited to encourage colleagues to come to her with questions without hesitation.  Even if the answer isn’t on the tip of her tongue – she’ll track it down!

Matt Johnson

Creative problem solving and utilizing technology to gain efficiency has been at the forefront of Matt Johnson’s 10 year career in VDC.  He’s worked on projects in every major sector but one stands out to him specifically – District One Hospital.  He was able to use his background in 3D scanning/survey to capture existing conditions and produce prefabricated conduit routes.  Matt is excited to be able to guide others into more successful VDC careers while working in this new role.

Zak Swenson

With 7 years of experience, Zak also enjoys the daily variety.  From data centers to warehouses, hospitals, and schools – they all have their own unique challenges and Zak feels a real sense of accomplishment when a large project is completed.  At Hunt, everyone wants to see you success and will help you reach your goals in any way they can.  Zac has had some great mentors here that have helped him get to where he is today.

We continue to strive to positively impact the lives of our employees and create a workforce that is well-rounded, creative, and full of team players.  We make these decisions based on our values and people first approach.  Promoting from within was an easy decision as we have a long-term investment in each other.

Congratulations Jolene, Matt, and Zak!
