Go Big or Gourd Home!

Hunt Electric’s Duluth office and the Proctor Moose Lodge #1302 teamed up to donate and deliver the pumpkins to Proctor area organizations including the Proctor Childhood Center, Scandia Senior Care, Bay View Elementary, and Mesabi Preschool Academy in St. Rose Church.

DULUTH, MN – October 31, 2021 - Last week, a trailer full of 200 vibrant fall colored pumpkins was harvested from a little farm in Meadlowlands, MN. That little farm – that’s where Jonah Maly, age 11, lives.

Jonah is the grandson of Troy Maly – a longtime General Foreman at Hunt Electric’s Duluth office.  With Troy’s help, his grandson has been growing pumpkins every year since he was 4 years old.

Jim McKinnon has been doing this for several years and has helped the number of donated pumpkins grow each year. Paul Scinnoca from our ARS division is not pictured because he’s behind the camera, but shown here is Jonah Maly, Safety Representative Jim McKinnon, and Hunt Electric Duluth President, Mike Wilke.

There were a lot of excited and happy expressions from the recipients of these pumpkins and those involved can’t wait to do it again next year!
