Rod Mayer Reelected as President of North Dakota State Electrical Board
Veteran electrician and industry leader Rod Mayer continues his commitment to North Dakota’s electrical community with his reappointment as President of the State Electrical Board. With decades of expertise and a passion for the trade, Rod’s leadership remains a guiding force for electricians across the state. Congratulations, Rod!

Minot, ND – February 2025 - Our very own Rod Mayer was recently reelected as President of the North Dakota State Electrical Board!
The State Electrical Board is made up of five members appointed by the governor every five years. The board consists of:
- A master electrician who is a contractor
- A journeyman electrician
- A consumer member of a rural electric cooperative
- A person associated with an investor-owned utility
- A member who represents the public and is not associated with the electrical industry
Rod has been on the board since 2009 and has been President since 2015. He became a North Dakota master electrician since 1985, the same year he and his wife Denise started Mayer Electric in Minot, ND.
Hunt acquired Mayer Electric in April of 2024, and Rod’s electrical expertise and can-do attitude have helped contribute to a seamless transition. We are proud to have Rod as part of our team, and excited to see him continuing his role as a leader to electricians throughout North Dakota.
Congrats, Rod!!
