Mike Jones Promoted to Senior Buyer
Mike Jones has been promoted to Senior Buyer—marking 30 years of dedication, growth, and impact at Hunt Electric. From his start as a Project Engineer to becoming a trusted mentor and procurement expert, Mike continues to lead with humility, passion, and a deep commitment to his team.
BLOOMINGTON, MN – April 2025 – Hunt Vice President of Purchasing Mike Elia has announced Mike Jones’ promotion to Senior Buyer.
2025 is a big year for Mike, marking 30 years with Hunt! His career began right after high school when he joined the US Navy as an Electrician. Following the service, Mike took the next step and enrolled in Dunwoody’s Electrical Construction Maintenance Program. He graduated on a Friday and started at Hunt the following Monday as a Project Engineer. And the rest – as they say – is history!
Since joining Hunt, Mike has been an Estimator, Project Manager, and Buyer. He credits Hunt for his development saying, “Working at Hunt for 30 years and the impact all Hunt leaders have had on me have grown me to who I am today. Hunt is my family!”
As a Senior Buyer, he works with Project Managers in Hunt’s Local Operations department, procuring materials for a variety of projects. Utilizing decades of industry experience, Mike helps Project Managers understand and navigate issues related to long lead item procurement, enabling them to strategize solutions that save time and money.
His comprehensive understanding of market conditions – and passion for sharing knowledge with his teammates – keeps Hunt on the cutting-edge. When asked about his new title he says, “To me, whatever role I’m in, I always look forward to waking up in the morning, going to work, and making a positive impact.” Putting words into action, Mike also mentors his coworkers, sharing insights and offering support to those who ask.
Mike is an invaluable member of the team and a humble leader who truly strengthens and uplifts those around him.
