John Matejcek Promoted to Vice President, Safety and Risk Management

Hunt Electric has promoted John Matejcek to Vice President of Safety and Risk Management. Since joining Hunt in 2023, John has led key improvements in risk processes and claims management. In his new role, he’ll unify safety and risk efforts company-wide, supporting a proactive, full-circle approach to incident management.

BLOOMINGTON, MN – May 2025 –  Hunt President and CEO John Axelson has announced John Matejcek’s promotion to Vice President of Safety and Risk Management.

John has worked in Safety and Risk throughout his career. From Workers’ Compensation adjuster to reestablishing the Risk Management department of one of the nation’s largest window manufacturers, he wore multiple hats before joining Hunt in January 2023 as Director of Risk Management.

As part of Hunt’s commitment to further integrate safety and risk management with our operations, John will be working closely with Hunt’s Director of Corporate Safety, Chris Rollins to ensure Hunt maintains the highest safety standards across the company.

In this new role, John will be supporting Hunt’s Safety and Risk team members in achieving their goals, which will be further developed to align with Hunt’s big picture. Breaking it down, John says “By combining Safety and Risk into one team, Hunt will be placing the responsibility of pre-incident and post-incident management into one capability, allowing us to have a full circle approach to lessons learned and policy and procedure development.”

John’s accomplishments since joining Hunt showcase his commitment to Hunt’s high standards of integrity and success. A few examples include increasing speed of service through the implementation of Hunt’s Master Subcontract Agreements; restructuring Hunt’s insurance renewal process to better align with Spring labor rate changes; and refreshing our insurance claims management structure and internal practices to allow for faster claim resolution and payment (i.e. Worker’s Compensation, accidents involving fleet vehicles, etc.).

As he continues to grow Hunt’s Safety and Risk initiatives, please take a moment to congratulate him on his promotion and celebrate this win-win!
