Waconia Parkway Improvements

The Waconia Parkway Improvements project focused on enhancing pedestrian safety and traffic visibility at a newly constructed roundabout in Waconia, Minnesota. Hunt Electric was responsible for the installation and construction of roadway lighting and a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon system designed to improve safety at pedestrian crossings.

This infrastructure upgrade supports safer interaction between pedestrians and vehicles, particularly in high traffic and low light conditions, while integrating seamlessly into the overall roundabout design.

As part of the roundabout construction, Hunt Electric installed an advanced pedestrian warning system that alerts drivers when someone is entering the crosswalk. The Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon system activates bright, rapidly flashing lights when a pedestrian presses a push button, significantly increasing driver awareness.

This solution enhances visibility and response time for motorists, creating a safer environment for pedestrians while maintaining efficient traffic flow through the intersection.
