Project Overview: Four Major Building Additions
Sofidel America Corporation’s Duluth facility underwent a major expansion to support a new process for converting tissue rolls and materials into a variety of commercial products. The project included four major building additions, enabling substantial growth in manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, and shipping operations.
In total, the expansion encompasses approximately 588,759 square feet of new construction, transforming the facility’s production and logistics capabilities. Hunt Electric provided the full core and shell electrical buildout across all new structures, while our in-house limited-energy partner, ARS, delivered the complete low-voltage systems package.
Project Phasing & Facility Impact
The expansion integrates new construction across previously developed industrial and landscaped areas, allowing Sofidel America to significantly increase production capacity. The scope supports new conversion-line operations while improving logistics flow for packaging and shipping activities.
Construction sequencing was coordinated to maintain ongoing facility operations while preparing for increased throughput and future operational demands.
Scope of Work
Hunt Electric’s scope included comprehensive electrical construction for the entire expansion area, covering all primary systems required for the new industrial, warehousing, and processing operations. Our responsibilities extended across power distribution, lighting, infrastructure, and coordination with ARS for low-voltage integrations.

- 4,839 square feet office space
- 3,613 square feet gatehouse and relocated truck scale
- 8,003 square feet oil storage area
ARS was responsible for all low-voltage systems, supporting future technology needs and enhanced facility operations.
