Red Lake Nation College Renovation

Hunt Electric and ECSI completed the electrical design and installation for the renovation of Red Lake Nation College in downtown Minneapolis. The project transformed three historic, 100 year old buildings into a single, connected learning environment that blends modern technology with preserved architectural character.

The renovation created a continuous interior space anchored by a two story atrium and roof deck with views of U.S. Bank Stadium, providing students with a modern, urban campus experience while honoring the building’s historic roots.

The college’s downtown location offered a unique opportunity to integrate contemporary systems into a historic structure. Modern finishes were carefully paired with exposed brick and timber, creating spaces that feel both current and connected to the building’s past.

The project site presented logistical challenges, including a tight downtown footprint and a nearby bike lane, requiring careful planning and coordination to deliver the work safely and efficiently.
