Northstar Ford Arena Expansion

The Northstar Ford Arena expansion in Hermantown, Minnesota added a second sheet of ice to the existing facility, transforming it into a larger, more versatile community and sports destination. This two story, 77,000 square foot addition supports high school hockey programs while also expanding tournament capacity and year round community use.

The integrated complex now offers upgraded player spaces, enhanced spectator areas, and improved accessibility, positioning the arena as a regional hub for athletics and community events.

A unique challenge of this project was the requirement to keep the main rink and ice surface fully usable throughout construction. This demanded careful sequencing, coordination, and system tie ins to ensure uninterrupted operations while the expansion progressed.

Hunt Electric worked closely with project partners to deliver major electrical upgrades and new systems without impacting scheduled games, practices, or public use of the facility

• Nearly 700 collegiate quality spectator seats arranged in a top loaded configuration
