Minot Air Force Base Rifle Range Project
Minot Air Force Base Rifle Range | Mission Critical Training Facility Construction
Minot Air Force Base Rifle Range Project
The Minot Air Force Base Rifle Range project involved the design and construction of a new indoor firing range facility, along with the demolition and remediation of two outdated 1980s era ranges and their associated support buildings.
The new facility consolidates training, classroom space, and arms storage into a single, modern structure designed to meet current training demands. With expanded firing capacity and integrated support spaces, the project delivers a more efficient and capable environment for military training operations.

Modernizing Training Infrastructure for Operational Readiness
The new facility was designed to support evolving training requirements through improved capacity, layout, and system integration. By replacing aging infrastructure with a purpose built environment, the project enhances both efficiency and functionality.
The design also integrates advanced building and control systems, requiring close coordination with stakeholders throughout the design build lifecycle to ensure all operational and security requirements were met.
Scope of Work
Hunt Electric supported the electrical infrastructure required for this advanced training facility, including systems serving:
Indoor Training Ranges
- 21 lane, 15,554 square foot small arms range
- 14 lane, 10,668 square foot small arms range
- 4 lane, 6,719 square foot machine gun range
- Range supply rooms and control booths
Combat Arms Training and Maintenance (CATM) Facility
- 18,452 square foot support facility
- Instructor offices and classrooms
- Weapons maintenance and cleaning areas
- Alarmed weapons and ammunition storage vault
- Arms issue room, restrooms, and laundry facilities
