GeoTek G3 Expansion

GeoTek, a leading manufacturer and distributor of reinforced fiberglass pultrusion products serving the electric utility and animal containment markets, expanded its capabilities with the construction of a new 105,000-square-foot facility in Stewartville, Minnesota. The expansion supports GeoTek’s growing operations, including the addition of fiberglass light pole manufacturing to its product line.

The new G3 facility includes expanded manufacturing areas, modern office spaces, a large materials testing laboratory, and essential operational functions such as shipping, receiving, and maintenance. The project sits on a 38-acre greenfield site, allowing for efficient site planning and future development opportunities.

GeoTek anticipates adding 100 new jobs with this expansion, providing substantial economic impact to the region.

A standout architectural element of this project is GeoTek’s use of its own fiberglass light poles. These were installed extensively across the site for exterior lighting and also featured prominently inside the building’s main office entrance as a design highlight, demonstrating the versatility of GeoTek’s products.

Hunt Electric provided full electrical construction for the G3 Expansion, delivering all major systems required to support GeoTek’s growing manufacturing and testing operations. Our team’s scope included:

• Power distribution for manufacturing and support areas
• Interior and exterior lighting systems
• System infrastructure installation across all major building functions
• Structured cabling and low-voltage system installations by our Low Voltage/ECSI team

Through Advanced Construction Planning (ACP), Hunt Electric streamlined coordination and sequencing throughout deliveries, trade interaction, and onsite work. This approach improved schedule reliability and construction efficiency.

Following project completion, Hunt Electric’s Service & Maintenance Division continues to support GeoTek with responsive electrical expertise for ongoing facility needs.
