Beverage Bottling Facility – Fill Line Lighting

Burnsville, MN

What do you do when you have several lights out above key equipment and the CEO is coming to town?

The objective of this project was to change ballast and re-lamp the four remaining fixtures in a room with endless equipment and no way to access with a lift. The majority of the room had been changed to LED lighting with tall ladders and lifts prior to the latest equipment additions. Several lights remained above existing equipment that had finally failed leaving dark spots in the room. In a single day our Rope Access Team was able to access all four lights and do the needed repairs. Two of the lighting locations would have required specialty scaffolding builds covering large spans above equipment, with disruption to the canning process. We were able to mobilize and complete work within three days of the call for help.

This specific location has a dropped ceiling adding to the difficulty of accessing the building structure. We used building structure to gain access to the lights, requiring us to move tiles as we worked across the ceiling.

Where There’s a Rope, There’s a Way!

The production manager was impressed at the safety and efficiency of our work, our minimal footprint which only affected the area directly below our work location, and the short downtime duration we needed to perform our work.
