Andersen Windows Summit Facility

Due to our successful collaboration at their corporate headquarters, Andersen Windows has chosen Hunt for the construction of their new production facility in Georgia. This design-build project entrusted Hunt with the responsibility for the core and shell of the warehouse, as well as the interior finishes for the four office spaces. Our in-house limited energy partner, ECSI, is handling the fire alarm and security systems for the facility.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • 802,250 s.f. with intent to expand another 505,400 s.f. (eventually!)
  • (3) 400A Services

CROWS NESTS:
We have utilized crows nests on several Andersen Windows projects and at our Baer Manufacturing facility in Hudson, WI.  Crows nests keep the majority of electrical equipment off the production floor.  We had (6) elevated platforms on the Locust Grove project and utilized Baer to prefabricate the installation of panels and transformers.

THE KEYS TO THE PROJECT SUCCESS:

Challenge: Labor shortages in Georgia.
Solution: We sent a small team of Minnesota electricians to the jobsite for several months.

Challenge: Standard construction methods in Minnesota differ from those in the Atlanta area, challenging how we implement our methods of installation with both the electrical labor and the General Contractor.
Solution: Hunt partnered with White Electric, the local electrical contractor in Georgia, to complete construction. Hunt was able to coordinate our methods with the General Contractor and saved on labor expenses.
