EAGAN, MN – December 2025 – Hunt Electric has officially acquired Rick Electric, a trusted electrical contractor based in Moorhead, Minnesota, effective December 31, 2025. The acquisition unites two organizations with shared values centered on craftsmanship, customer service, and long-term relationships, while strengthening Hunt Electric’s footprint across Western Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota.

Founded in 1964, Rick Electric has built a strong reputation over six decades, serving clients across a diverse range of market segments including agriculture, commercial, educational, industrial, residential, and service work. The company’s experienced team includes five office staff and skilled electricians with a focus on commercial and educational construction projects.

“This transition brings together two companies that value quality work and strong partnerships,” said Hunt Electric leadership. “We are excited to welcome Rick Electric’s employees to the Hunt Electric team and to build on the legacy Rick Electric has established in the region.”

As part of the transition, Rick Electric will continue operating from its Moorhead location, providing the same level of service customers have come to expect—now supported by Hunt Electric’s expanded resources and regional expertise. Denny Rick will serve as Branch Manager, reporting to Norm Motter, Vice President of Hunt Electric’s Northern Region.

Rick Electric has completed numerous high-profile projects throughout the region, including the NDSU Peltier Complex, NDSU Indoor Performance Facility, Fargo Jet Center, U.S. Bank Service Center, and the Cavalier, North Dakota Space Station Generator project.

The acquisition reflects Hunt Electric’s continued commitment to strategic growth while maintaining a local, relationship-driven approach to serving customers.
