BLOOMINGTON, MN – July 2023 – Vice President of Purchasing, Mike Elia, recently announced the promotion of Mike Barnum to Logistics Supervisor.  Mike previously was working at Hunt as a CDL Driver.

When Mike was 14, his Dad sent him over the road with a friend for the summer and the rest was history for him.  Mike says “I will always remember jumping behind the wheel on California Interstate 5, looking down the long Peterbilt hood then seeing how long the truck was in the mirrors thinking it was so cool.”

In his new position, Mike will have the CDL Drivers and Logistics Specialist roles reporting to him.  He will be focused on helping build our logistics strategy with Baer Manufacturing and our operations teams.  Mike’s looking forward to the challenge as well as learning more about the business part of logistics.

Congratulations Mike, on your new position as the Logistics Supervisor!

Recently, both Hunt Electric Corporation and ECSI System Integrators were part of a unique facility expansion project that involved moving nearly 300 CNC machines. The new plant now expands their overall machining capacity to more than 450 mills/lathes in the US. This was the first project we’ve worked with Protolabs on and they are happy to report the moving process maintained on-time delivery, and most importantly, there were no injuries. Check out this cool time-lapse video of how they moved all of these machines into the new facility: https://youtu.be/V0l5Pr7cD9QAre you familiar with digital manufacturing? It’s rapid prototyping and on-demand production in as fast as 1 day. Still confused? Let’s just say Protolabs manufacturers 3.1 million parts per month.
