Duluth, MN – January 2025 – Hunt’s Chief Operating Officer Keith Colvard recently announced the promotion of Jim Monroe to Operations Manager of Hunt’s Duluth branch!

Jim’s love of electronics started early, and he has always enjoyed the challenge of understanding circuits and troubleshooting things. After high school, he joined the Air Force where he worked as an Avionics/Electric Welfare technician for four years before transitioning to the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth. He then spent 12 years as a field electrician and has been a part of Hunt since we acquired API Electric in 2012. He became Project Manager in 2019, and the rest is history!

Having been with Hunt for more than a decade now, Jim has worked on some exciting projects! As a field foreman, he oversaw the electrical construction of several large projects up North, including Maurice’s 11-story headquarters in Duluth, and Cooper Elementary School in Superior. As a PM, he oversaw the expansion of two Duluth-area hospitals as well as the Carlton Country Justice Center.

We asked Jim why Hunt is the right fit for him. “Because I can’t imagine being anywhere else!” he said. “I’ve honestly had the fortune of working alongside some of the best people I could have ever asked for throughout my time here, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunities Hunt has presented me with.”

We feel fortunate to work alongside Jim, too! Congrats on the promotion, Jim! You deserve it!
