The Foundation of Hunt’s Core Values

Every corporation has a set of core values, but at Hunt, these values aren’t just words on a wall—they’re a reflection of who we are and how we operate. Connor was part of the vision team tasked with defining these values. “It wasn’t about creating something aspirational,” he explained. “It was about identifying what we already do really well and putting a name to it.”

Hunt’s core values—We Set the Pace, We Honor Our Commitments, We Find a Way, and We are Better Together—are simple, actionable, and deeply ingrained in our culture. They weren’t created in a vacuum; they were born out of real experiences and the collective input of the team. “It wasn’t a goal to live up to,” Connor said. “It was a definition of what we were already doing.”

Living the Values in the Field and Beyond

One of the key challenges Hunt faces is ensuring these values resonate across all levels of the organization, from the office to the field. Connor emphasized the importance of aligning everyone—whether they’re turning a screwdriver, managing a project, or supporting operations.

Connor also highlighted the importance of collaboration and adaptability. “The best leaders aren’t rigid,” he noted. “They put a plan in place but leave room for influence and input. That’s how you get buy-in from everyone involved.”

Building a Culture of Excellence

Hunt’s culture isn’t something that’s forced—it’s something that naturally attracts high-performing individuals. “We weren’t out actively recruiting people,” Connor said. “We were just being us, and people wanted to be a part of it.” This culture of excellence extends to how Hunt builds relationships with partners and clients.

Looking Ahead

As Hunt continues to grow and evolve, the focus remains on staying true to our core values and ensuring they guide every decision we make. Connor’s journey and insights are a powerful reminder of what makes Hunt Electric special. It’s not just the projects we complete or the milestones we achieve—it’s the people, the culture, and the values that drive us forward.

At Hunt, we don’t just talk about our core values—we live them every day. And as Connor so aptly put it, “If we do those three things—keep people safe, stay efficient, and ensure the customer comes back—we’ve got another 60 years ahead of us, and then some.”
