EAGAN, MN – May 21, 2026 –
In this episode of Beyond the Breaker, we chat with Clint Zhang, founder and CEO of Remarcable, a groundbreaking platform transforming the construction industry. With a background in electrical and computer engineering, Clint shares his journey from intern to innovator, creating a tool that digitizes material procurement and streamlines processes for contractors.
From Intern to Innovator
Clint’s journey began at Southwire, where he automated complex cable specifications, sparking his interest in the construction industry. “I wrote a program to automate the process so that I can do all of them very quickly,” he recalls. This innovation led to the creation of Remarcable, a platform that allows field users to procure materials digitally, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
Revolutionizing Construction
Remarcable addresses a significant gap in the industry by digitizing procurement processes traditionally done via phone and email. “The electrical and construction industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, and a lot of that is material. With modern technology, there has to be a better way to help all of these people doing their work easier,” Clint explains. Remarcable is essentially a one-stop digital platform that enables construction professionals to manage procurement seamlessly. It allows field users to order materials directly from their devices, while office users can process purchase orders, check pricing and availability, and handle invoices efficiently. This comprehensive approach not only saves time but also reduces errors and enhances productivity across the board.
Clint faced initial resistance from field users and vendors but found early adopters who believed in his vision. “Changing the mindset is crucial. One comment I get a lot is, ‘We’ve made money doing this for decades. Why change now?’” he shares. Despite these challenges, Remarcable has grown rapidly, now handling nearly a billion dollars in transactions monthly.
Looking Ahead
Clint envisions greater connectivity in the construction industry, leveraging AI and open ecosystems to enhance decision-making. “We’re living in a really exciting age where a lot of things are happening,” he notes. “This is the time to really look forward and be prepared for the future because it’s going to be fast and furious.”
