Soldiers Field Park

 A MUCH-NEEDED CHANGE FOR SOLDIERS FIELD PARK
With a heavily-used pool in dire need of repair, it was time for Soldiers Field Park to get a makeover. With a new aquatics center complete with a lazy river, three water slides, a 50 meter lap pool, shallow pool, splash pad, and renovated bathhouse, the new-and-improved park will be ready for its debut in Summer 2024. This park improvement also includes an inclusive playground and shelter, new basketball courts, and a southwest trail connection.

A TASTE OF SUMMER
Building an outdoor pool in the winter is not considered the norm for Minnesota. This project is also unique in that it includes new building construction, pool construction, and sports field lighting and pathway lighting all in one project.

THRIVING ON A DEADLINE
This project’s tight deadline was a challenge. A late design did not allow for enough time to procure new distribution switchboards and VFD’s under normal timelines. We found a solution to expedite the procurement process, which even resulted in a better overall design.
