Solar Farm Expansion Project

Hunt Electric is working with St. John’s Abbey and Xcel Energy to expand their existing solar farm to provide up to 30 percent of the campus’s electricity.

St. John's Abbey and Best Power, along with Hunt Electric, built the original 400-kilowatt solar farm in 2009. At that time, it was the largest contiguous solar project in Minnesota. Since then, it's been surpassed by solar projects at the Minneapolis Convention Center, a farm in Slayton and the IKEA store in Bloomington. The Minneapolis Convention Center and the IKEA store were projects also completed by Hunt Electric.
