Hunt Electric began as an electrical services company in 1965. Since then we have become a full service electrical design, build and maintenance company with a robust national presence. In more than four decades of business, our clientele has expanded to include regional organizations like Mayo Health Systems and the University of Minnesota to major multinational corporations including Delta Airlines and Thomson Reuters.
Hunt Electric was founded by Dick Hunt, Ron Harris, and Shelly Stewart. Hunt Electric’s original offices were located in the old Yoerg Brewery Building in St. Paul, where customers were frequently welcomed in the old pump room.
Dick Hunt retired as President and Bob Tipler took over. Hunt Electric also relocated to its corporate headquarters to 2300 Territorial Road in St. Paul, MN and stayed there until 2015.
Mike Hanson stepped in as President of Hunt Electric.
Hunt Electric purchased the assets of Commonwealth Electric.
Hunt Electric opened a branch office in Rochester, Minnesota. Working exclusively in the Southern Region, we work with the attitude of a small town contractor, but have the resources of our corporate office at our fingertips.
The Power Solutions division was created to provide comprehensive power solutions, including testing, engineering, analysis and maintenance.
Hunt Electric purchased the assets of the APi Electric Company, located in Duluth, MN.
